I think it’s really annoying the whole stigma that’s placed on “unfollowing” someone on tumblr.

For some reason there’s this idea that if you unfollow someone it means you HATE THEIR GUTS and their blog MAKES YOU VOMIT and they as a person just TOTALLY DISGUST YOU. And that is silly!! It’s perfectly reasonable to unfollow someone with no ill will because their blog just isn’t something you’re into anymore!

In reality, you can still be friends with someone without following someone on tumblr! Unfollowing someone DOESN’T MEAN you hate them, just as much as them unfollowing you doesn’t mean they hate you!

It’s just a matter of interests. Sometimes people aren’t always interested in the same things! You may be interested in gay porn and blogging about politics all the time, but those aren’t really things I’m into, but I still like you as a person if that is what you want to blog about! Expecting people to follow you and have things they are uninterested in on their dashboard in order for you to be allowed to stay friends is rather silly!

Let’s not be dramatic and all take a moment to understand that unfollowing is not the same as burning bridges or declaring the end of a friendship!!
